The project will improve the traffic safety and operations on Highway 246 between Buellton and Lompoc by adding passing lanes and turning lanes between Purisima and Domingos Roads.

Phase I was completed in 2018. Phase II looks to continue improvements to the east from Phase I, considering passing lanes and operational and safety improvements between Hapgood Road to Domingos Road. This area is in the unincorporated part of the County of Santa Barbara.
