In April 2007, the Santa Barbara County
Association of Governments' Board of Directors agreed to
place the renewal of Santa Barbara
County's Measure
D, the local half-cent sales tax
measure for transportation,
on the November 2008 ballot.
SBCAG has
engaged more than fifty public
representatives from community
organizations in both north and south
county to participate in the
process of developing Santa Barbara
County's Transportation Investment Plan.
This Investment
Plan will determine how the
more than $1 billion
in transportation funding
generated by the Measure D renewal will
be spent in Santa Barbara County
for the next thirty years.
