Santa Ynez River Trail Alignment Study
The purpose of the study is to identify potential alignments to inform the future development of a multimodal trail along the Santa Ynez River. There is local support for the development of a multimodal trail to connect the cities of Buellton and Solvang. Current conditions do not allow for a direct, safe route for bicyclists, pedestrians, or equestrians to travel between the two neighboring jurisdictions. The alignment study is the first step in the development of a multimodal trail. Ultimately, this study aims to highlight the opportunities, constraints, and estimated costs of the various alternatives for a river trail to allow for an informed decision in future alignment selection. This project will be managed by SBCAG staff but will be performed by consulting firm KTUA.
