As the Airport Land Use Commission (ALUC) for Santa Barbara County, SBCAG is
responsible for protecting public health, safety and welfare by ensuring
that vacant lands in the vicinity of airports are planned and zoned for uses
compatible with airport operations.
SBCAG is currently working with a consultant on an update to its currently outdated
1993 Airport Land Use Compatibility Plan. The updated Plan will serve
as a tool for the Airport Land Use
Commission to review land use plans and development proposals within Airport
Influence Areas. Also, the Plan will provide land use compatibility
policies and criteria applicable to local jurisdictions in their preparation
or amendments of General Plans.
